The World Cup of Darts 2025 will mark a historic milestone: Argentina will make its debut in the tournament. Thanks to the qualification of Jesus Salate and Victor Guillin, the football-crazed South American nation takes a significant step in the world of darts.
Argentina, best known for its passion for football, is now also making an impact on the international darts scene. Salate and Guillin earned their spot by winning the Central and South America qualifying tournament for the World Cup of Darts 2025. In Frankfurt, where the World Cup of Darts will take place from June 12 to 15, they will represent their country in the competition for the first time.
During the qualifying tournament, it quickly became clear that history was in the making. Salate and Guillin impressed by defeating the reigning champions from Guyana 6-2 in the semifinal. In the final, they beat Costa Rica, securing their place in the tournament.
Other countries considered to have a much greater chance of winning the qualifier must now stand aside, as only one nation from Latin and South America is invited to the World Cup of Darts each year.
It was previously confirmed that England will be represented by world number one Luke Humphries and world number two Luke Littler. This makes England the strong favorites to defend their title in the tournament.
